This my first time visiting Disney World, I am so excited!! It includes myself and my 2 daughters 3 and 7 and our reservations include meals but how much spending $ will we need? We are visiting in August. I want to start saving now! Thanks!

    Hello Alica!

YEAH!!!!  You are absolutely going to LOVE your first trip to Disney World!  I am so excited for all of YOU!!!!

As you begin to plan on how much spending money to bring, you have already made a wise choice.  With the Disney Dining Plan, you receive 1 to 2 snacks options a day depending on the plan you purchased.  Snacks can be anything from ice cream to soft drinks. This is going to save you a TON of your spending money since snacks are built into your dining plan.

The Disney Dining Plan does not include gratuity, so make sure you add that to your budget on all of your Table Service reservations.

Since I have five children, we budget a certain amount of money for their "Disney Treasures".  Our three oldest children (10, 8, 7) are told how much they can spend on our vacation.  We then give them ownership to budget and figure out what they want to purchase with their budget money.  Once their money is gone, they are not allowed to purchase anything else.  This budget to set and agreed upon before we arrive at Disney World.  So, for our family we usually budget around $75.00 for the older children and $50.00 for the younger children.  My wife and I also budget around $100.00 for the two of us as well.  (She gets $90.00, and I get $10.00!)

We also budget around $100.00 into our spending money for any emergency that might arise.  (NOTE:  Being prepared with sunscreen, ponchos for rain, fruit snacks, extra change of clothes, etc. will save your emergency spending money for sure!!)

I sure hope this helps give you an idea on how much spending money to bring.  If you have other questions, please let me know!

    Have a MAGICAL day!
