Hi, This will be our first time visiting Disney World and I will be celebrating my 50th birthday on April 2, 2022. Are there anything I can plan for my 50th while I am there? We will not be staying at the resort. We will be visisting Magic Kingdom park. D

Happy 50th Birthday Derrick! Welcome to planDisney.

Break out the balloons, cake, and fireworks, Derrick is turning 50! No problem, because you are heading to  The World's Most Magical Celebration at  Walt Disney World Resort. Did you know you will be sharing your 50th with The World's Most Magical Place? I had a blast on my own 50th looking for all the 50th Anniversary Celebration Merchandise.

Because your arrival is so near, I am going to focus on a few suggestions that do not require advance reservations, as those may be hard to come by at this point. First, to maximize and customize your day, I suggest you add Disney Genie+ Service to your Theme Park Ticket. Click here to watch Gary Daniels, VP, Digital Experience, Disney Parks, go through an overview. Here are some Frequently Asked Questions concerning Disney Genie+ Service. In short, you will have access to Lightning Lanes minimizing your wait times in attraction queues. Those selections will be available beginning at 7:00 AM.

When you enter  Magic Kingdom Park, head straight to Guest Relations and asked for a complimentary "I'm Celebrating" and "My First Visit" button. Wear that badge with honor on your special day. You may be surprised with a little Pixie Dust spread your way by friendly Cast Members. I would promptly head to one of those coveted attractions before the crowds get too heavy. Big Thunder Mountain Railway,  Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, or Space Mountain are three thrilling ways to kick things off.

Keep an eye out on the My Disney Experience Mobile App for all of the day's activities. Under "Park Hours & Info" click on "Today." I want you to catch the return of the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade. Why not grab a few classic Disney treats to enjoy the parade like a Mickey Pretzel or DOLE Whip® from Aloha Isle.

In the afternoon, I like to take a break and walk on over to  Disney's Contemporary Resort. I head straight to Steakhouse 71 lounge for a first come first serve lounge chair. Enjoy the air conditioning, a fabulous cocktail or craft beer, and delectable food offerings. I highly recommend the Steakhouse 71 Stack Burger. This break will rejuvenate you to finish off your magical day.

Finally, to put the cherry on top of your most special day, get yourself a prime viewing area to watch Disney Enchantment. This all-new nighttime spectacular will light up Cinderella Castle to Main Street U.S.A. with projections while the night sky will dance with fireworks.

    Sending you Birthday Wishes,
    Cindy
