Its our first time visiting Disney and I happened to purchase tickets to Magic Kingdom during Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party. Do I need to buy another ticket for this event even though I already purchased a regular ticket to MK?

Your first visit! I’m so excited for you and your family, Catherine! Because it is going to be your first visit, I’ve linked a special video to this answer that provides some advice and tips for Guests making their first visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth! I hope it’s helpful! Now, let’s get to answering your question.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a special ticketed event that does require a unique ticket. Your ticket allowing you to enter Magic Kingdom Park for the day is not a ticket for the Halloween party. Your Magic Kingdom Park ticket will allow you to enter the park at park opening time (9:00 AM) and remain in the park until closing time (6:00 PM). Day Guests will need to leave the park at that time as the park transitions for the Halloween party.

Catherine, if you have a multi-day ticket, you can change your park selection to a different park for that day. You could then select to visit Magic Kingdom Park on a day when the Halloween party is not taking place. You can change your park selection through your My Disney Experience account. Once you’ve logged into your account, you’ll select “My Plans, Reservations, & Tickets.” You’ll then click “View Details” for the day you want to change. You’ll then follow the prompts to modify your park pass reservation.

If you choose to keep your plans to visit Magic Kingdom Park that day, and you are a Guest of a Walt Disney World Resort hotel (or participating “Good Neighbor” hotels), you can get some extra time in the park by taking advantage of the Early Theme Park Entry benefit. This perk allows Guests to enter the park 30 minutes prior to official park opening time! You’ll be surprised at what you can get done during those extra 30 minutes!

Catherine, since this is your first visit, I’m guessing you might have other planning questions. If so, please come back to visit me and my fellow planDisney panelists! We’re happy to help!

    Happy Planning!
