First time visit to WDW. Late start in planning. Coming first week in June. Family of 5 (kids ages=10, 8, and 5). VERY OVERWHELMED. Some people plan over a year and I have only a couple of months!! Suggestions of best places to stay for first timers?

Hi Charity, you've come to the right place! Planning a Walt Disney World vacation can be overwhelming simply based on the number of choices. However, with a little help from us and a little planning and organization on your part, you can still enjoy all the magic that this wonderful place has to offer. Choosing a resort is a great place to begin. My top choices for families are the following: Art of Animation at the value level, Port Orleans Riverside for the moderate, and the Beach Club for the deluxe level. Choosing the best hotel for you will depend on your budget and availability.

The Art of Animation is a great option due to the family suites they feature that are perfect for a family of 5. These suites offer a bedroom, two bathrooms and dining area where the table converts to a double bed, and a sitting area with a pull-out couch. The pool at this resort is beyond amazing with a special surprise where you can actually hear the music UNDER water!

Port Orleans Riverside is a lovely resort that is spread out but has lots to offer such as biking/walking trails along the Sassagoula River, a fun pool themed after old-fashioned swimming holes, fishing, and so much more.

Disney's Beach Club Resort is one of my favorites. Once again, Disney has come through with an awesome pool called Stormalong Bay that features a water slide in what looks like a shipwreck, a lazy river, and all of this is near the beach overlooking the Boardwalk Inn. Another great benefit to this location is the easy access to Epcot, just a 5-10 minute walk to the International Gateway entrance. There are also a number of amazing restaurants here such as Yachtsman Steakhouse, Cape May Cafe and Beaches & Cream Soda Shop!

Feel free to stop by and ask me more questions as your planning continues. I would suggest dining reservations be your next step. I would be happy to offer my help in that area, too!
