Hi moms, first time visit from Uk in October, visiting all 4 parks plus the waterparks and staying at POFQ apart from a Dole Whip what are the not-to-miss snacks to try? Would especially like to sample things we don't get back here. Thanks

    Hi Helen,

There are so many wonderful treats to be sampled at Walt Disney World, I don't even know where to begin.  I have to warn you that I'm more of a sweet treat kind of girl, so forgive me if my suggestions are mostly confections.

Let's start with the water parks, the mini-donuts are scrumptious!  Don't pass them by.

Magic Kingdom: Yes, you must try the Dole Whip, but there are several other treats worth trying: ice cream sandwiches or funnel cakes at Sleepy Hollow, corn dog bites at Casey's Corner, or anything that looks good at Main Street Bakery.

Epcot: My favorites include School bread at Kringla og Cafe in Norway, Kaki Gori in Japan, and anything caramel at Karamell Kuche in Germany.

Hollywood Studios: Carrot Cake Cookies at Writer's Stop are extremely popular and addictive.  People also love the gigantic turkey legs at Toluca Turkey legs.  It's not a snack I would get, but it's popular enough that I should mention them.  The Butterfinger cupcakes at Starring Rolls are also incredible, and I'm fairly certain you can get a slice of Brown Derby's famous Grapefruit Cake there, as well.  If you go to 50s Prime Time Cafe be sure to try the PB&J (Peanut Butter and Jelly) Shake.

Animal Kingdom: I have to admit that we don't usually snack much in this park.  If we do, we usually get fruit or a Mickey Ice Cream Bar.  Although the popcorn at all of the Disney Parks is delicious, and the smell is intoxicating, so it might be a good option in Animal Kingdom.

Since you are staying at Port Orleans French Quarter, make sure to get some beignets at Sassagoula Floatworks.  Also stop at Goofy's Candy Company in Downtown Disney where you can create your own, custom crisped rice treats, marshmallows, apples, pretzels, or Oreos (really just about anything that you can dip in chocolate).

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
