For a first time visit for myself, my mom, and my 4 year old, for 2 days, do you recommend going to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, or Magic Kingdom most days. Also, do you recommend getting the food plan

    Hi Kristen,

Welcome to plan Disney! I am delighted to hEAR that you are planning a first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! Your 4-year old is just the perfect age for a first visit!

If you have two full days, I would recommend Magic Kingdom and Disney's Animal Kingdom theme parks. When we brought our girls on their first visit, they were 5-years old and they LOVED the animals at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Disney's Animal Kingdom is expansive, so you may want to consider having access to a stroller. If you purchase Standard 1 Park Per Day Tickets, you can visit one park per day. We typically used Standard 1 Park Per Day Tickets when our girls were younger. We would get to the parks when they opened, stay through lunch, go back to the resort for an afternoon nap, and return to the park in the late afternoon or early evening. My parents went with us on that first trip. We all enjoyed the afternoon break!

If you have not done so already, book a vacation package and/or purchase your theme park tickets. Once you do so, you will need to link those in your My Disney Experience account. Just log into that account, click on My Plans, then click on Add More Plans, and then select Link Reservations and Purchases. After your vacation package or tickets are linked, be sure to make Disney Park Pass system reservations for everyone in your party. Each Guest needs a park pass reservation to enter a theme park. Check the theme park reservation availability calendar for the dates of your visit to verify park availability before you purchase tickets or book a vacation package!

Unfortunately, Disney Dining Plans are not available at this time. Keep checking the website updates for news of their return. I also suggest making a few advanced dining reservations, especially for at least one character meal. Try Chef Mickey's which is located at Disney's Contemporary Resort, a monorail ride away from Magic Kingdom or Tusker House Restaurant which is located in Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park. If you do not see availability, keep checking. Check by specific times, not just by meal period (i.e. breakfast, lunch, or dinner). Cancelations do happen, so check up until the day prior to your visit. If you cannot make advanced dining reservations, you can also check Mobile Dine Walk-up Availability and use Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering while in the parks.

Kristen, time is short! Finalize those plans quickly. We are so happy to welcome you to the magic!

    Magic and memories,
    Donyell
