Hi Jennifer,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. I’m making yummy noises just thinking about being on the
Disney Deluxe Dining Plan. One of my dear friends and fellow Moms Panelists keeps a running list of all the drinks, meals, snack, and treats she wants to try at Walt Disney World, and it’s impossible to keep up with, because new and delicious options are added all the time. The Disney Deluxe Dining Plan really allows you to, as the song goes, “try everything!”
Substitutions on the Disney Dining Plan are at the discretion of the Cast Member serving you, and usually based on the restaurant’s policy. I’ve certainly been allowed to substitute a snack for a drink when dining at a resort Quick-Service restaurant, which makes sense because Guests on the dining plan can use their refillable mugs in the resorts. However, this is not a guaranteed substitution, so your best bet is to check with the Cast Member at your dining location to find out what may be allowed.
Jennifer, you are permitted use your entitlements to pay for another Guest who is not on the Disney Dining Plan. Just let your server know the plan at the time you order, as this makes the process go more smoothly. My family once had a meal paid for by a Guest on the last day of their vacation – they had a lot of entitlements left and were pixie-dusting their fellow Guests, which I thought was so cool. A
very Cinderella-approved move!
Enjoy every delicious bite of your Disney Deluxe Dining Plan! If you’d like to #resEARch new dining and snack options to enjoy on your visit, be sure to read the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest dish.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
