THiS is our FIRST time and are going to be ther for 5 days. We are having trouble deciding between the Moderate Hotel ( with soo many ammenidities) or the Value ones.I feel like the MODERATE is for longer stays. Kids are 9 and 7 yrs

    Annie:

There are pros and cons to both the Moderates and the Values.  Because both have bus transportation to the park, there are other things to consider.

The Value Resorts are a solid choice if:
    • You're planning to spend most of your time in the parks, and only sleep in your room.
    • If you have kids and not big teenage boys or girls who like to spend a lot of time in the bathroom.
    • If you are going at a time of year when you don't think you'll spend much time (or any) at the pool.
    • If you're planning on returning in the future.  (It's harder to go from a Moderate to a Value than vice versa on a future trip.)
The Moderate Resorts are a good choice if:
    • You need a little more space in your room and would like a privacy curtain to pull between the sink and bedroom area.
    • You need a refrigerator to store breakfast or snack foods.
    • You are visiting during warmer months (April - September) and plan on visiting the well-themed pool with slides.
    • You desire to have more than a food court on property.
    • Want an upscale, resort feel to your surroundings.
I've stayed at both Coronado Springs and Port Orleans for visits shorter than five days and enjoyed them.  The grounds are definitely a step up, and the boat at Port Orleans to Downtown Disney gives it another pro in my opinion.

I honestly don't think you'll be disappointed with either choice, though, as Disney's rooms are clean and well-themed.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
