This is our first time taking our 11 year son to DW. We need a villa and want the convenience of getting around the parks. Where do you suggest to stay that has the "cool factor" I am looking for, for him? The trp is a surprise so I cannot get

    Hi Kecia,

I turned to my 11 year old son to get his insight into the villas he thinks fellow 11 year olds would like, so here are our thoughts:

Our first idea is Bay Lake Tower, the newest villa located right next to the Magic Kingdom (you can walk there) with its modern flair and sister resort, The Contemporary, which has the monorail running right through it, certainly has the cool factor.

If an amazing pool will dazzle your son, hands-down the Beach Club villas are incredible with the resort's pool called Stormalong Bay, which is nearly a water park in and of itself. You can also walk to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios from this resort.

Our other thought is Disney Animal Kingdom Resort (both Jambo House and Kidani Village).  How often can you stay with zebras and giraffes right outside your balcony?

I hope this helps to give you some ideas with planning your first trip to WDW.  Such a great surprise for your son!  If I can help with anymore questions, please let me know by clicking here
