First time planning a vacation, where is the best place to stay with a 2 year old? since this is our first family vacation, i would prefer if it was NICE, not extravagant. My daughter loves princesses/animals. This vacation is all about her,any experience?

Hi Lindsey!  Two resorts come to mind when thinking about a perfect place for a magical vacation for you and your princess!

Debuting in 2012 will be some very special Royal Guest Rooms at the Port Orleans Resort. You can see a couple of pictures showing the magic that will surround you by clicking HERE. This is a moderate resort with full service transportation to all parks and Downtown Disney as well as great on site recreation such as pool with water slide, boat rentals, and dining options.  The opening of these rooms has been slightly delayed but please call the reservation number to see about securing a room for your vacation. 407-934-7639.

Another resort idea is the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Here you can reserve a room looking directly out over the savannahs where animals are grazing and resting and playing every day and night.  It is fun to wake up to see a giraffe only feet away eating the leaves of a nearby tree or bush or listening to the noises of the animals at night.  Animal lovers never leave this resort disappointed and it has become a favorite for many repeat guests.  This resort is a deluxe resort meaning the pool and facilities will be a bit more extended  from the moderate.

As I write I am also thinking of a great new option just opening up this year in May and that is the new Value resort called the Art of Animation.  These will be small family suite rooms where you are surrounded by wonderful animation decor.  As a Value resort these rooms will be sought after and will book up quickly. Value resorts are located further from the parks but if you don't mind a slightly longer bus ride this will be a fun place to call home for a few days!
