First time planning a trip to Disney for Christmas I am a Hilton Honors memeber staying at their resort I know They shuttle my family to and from the park can I also enjoy after hour events? Is christmas a good time to visit?

    Hi Sheila,

Yes, the Hilton in the Walt Disney World Resort (located across from Downtown Disney) does indeed offer the Extra Magic Hours at the WDW Theme Parks.  This is a great hotel that actually even offers Character Dining as well.  The location is wonderful and for staying off-property, this is the one hotel where you still feel like you are staying in Disney!

I love to go to WDW at Christmas time, but I suggest that you look at going the week following U.S. Thanksgiving to the week prior to Christmas (this is considered their Lowest Attendance period of the year).  If you travel Christmas week through New Year's Day, you will be traveling during their Highest Attendance period and will pay dearly during this time.  During the Christmas Season, I love the decorations, Special Events, Shows, Parades, Fireworks, etc... All of these are done with a Christmas theme and it is a spectacular feeling seeing WDW in this different perspective versus the other "normal" times during the year......everything at WDW is decorated and makes for a very special trip this time of the year.  Hope you have a wonderful time!

    Best wishes,
