This is my first time planning to go to Disney World. I have no idea how to start or where to start. We are planning to go in May 2023. Please help me!!!

    Hi, Nicole!  Welcome to planDisney!

I'm so excited to hear that you're planning your first visit to Walt Disney World Resort!  I know that Disney vacation planning can seem a bit overwhelming at first, but with a little faith, trust, pixie dust, and some help from planDisney, I'm certain that you can have the most magical vacation ever!

One of the first things that you're going to want to look into is where to stay.  I highly recommend staying right in the middle of the magic at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel.  If you scroll through the "Panel Extras" section of the planDisney website, you'll find our Disney Resort Hotels Pocket Guides.  The Pocket Guides provide a great overview of the various resort hotels and are a helpful resource for deciding which resort to call your home away from home.

Next, you'll want to think about how many days you want to spend in the theme parks.  You'll need to purchase your theme park tickets and make your park reservations.  I would recommend looking through the list of attractions and entertainment on the Walt Disney World Resort website.  This will help you decide on your must-do experiences, which in turn can help you choose how many days you want to spend in the theme parks.  You might also want to familiarize yourself with the Disney Genie and Disney Genie+ services which can help make your theme park days easier to plan.

I would also suggest taking a look at your dining options.  If you would like to enjoy any table service meals during your trip, reservations are strongly recommended.  Dining reservations can be made 60 days in advance.

If you haven't already done so, be sure to create a My Disney Experience account and download the My Disney Experience mobile app.  Then when you're ready to book your trip, look for the "Build Your Vacation" section at the top of the page on the Walt Disney World Resort website.  If you have any additional questions as you go through the process of planning your vacation, please don't hesitate to come back to planDisney and ask.  We're all ears!

    See ya real soon!
