First time planning a Disney trip first time going. We are a large family of 6. We plan on going spring break 2018. I'm curious when is it best to start planning. Any tips or advice on where to start and what to look for would be AWESOME! Thank you!

Hi, Mallory! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Planning your first Walt Disney World Resort vacation is so magical, right?! As I like to say, it’s never too early to start planning! You can currently make your Magic Your Way Vacation Package Reservation either online, by calling, or by using a trusted Disney Travel Agent with only a $200USD deposit. I like to book my vacations as early as possible as it gives me time to make payments, although I know many people who save up in advance- that’s what’s great, there are so many ways to make the vacation affordable to you and your family!

Speaking of affordability, did you know that there are many different types of Disney Resort hotels? From Value, Moderate, Deluxe and Villas, there really is something for everyone! I suggest taking a look at the description of each and see which one “speaks” to you! Seeing as though you have a family of 6, it is important to note that some rooms may not accommodate that many and you may need 2 separate rooms. Disney’s Art of Animation Family Suites are probably something you will want to add to your list!

When I travel to Walt Disney World Resort, it’s all about the FOOD! Did you know that you can start making your Advanced Dining Reservations up to 180 days in advance? I like the convenience that the Disney Dining Plan offers to my family and it may be a great fit for yours, too!

I really have so much more that I would love to tell you, but I have limited space in my online bubble here, so please come back soon so that we can help you plan! If you haven’t make sure to take a look at the Online Planning Videos as they offer valuable insight into planning your first magical vacation, however, I must warn you- it won’t be your last!

    See ya again real soon,
