As first time planners, we are trying to figure out which Disney resorts we should consider for our family of 5 (ages 6/8/8)? The accessibility to the Magic Kingdom/Epcot would be one of the main factors and are flexible with our budget. Thankful for help

Hi K! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

My family of five loves to stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. We love the design of this resort, the rooms are spacious for our family, and I also love that we are on the Monorail line which affords easy access to both Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot. Oh and did I forget to mention that you can walk to the Magic Kingdom? You also are able to view the Wishes Nighttime spectacular from the resort, and if you walk down to the beach area you will have a great spot for the nightly (weather permitting) Electrical Water Pageant. The location and amenities that this resort hotel offers makes this an easy choice for our family.

Another great resort for a family of five is Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. I love this resort because it is a “value” resort but it feels so deluxe to me. The resort hotel takes me back to my childhood and features theme’s after some of my favorite movies like Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid. The rooms offer a lot of room and flexibility for your family. The family suites include Master bedroom with a queen sized bed, a double-size sleeper sofa, a TableBed that converts into a double sized bed, a living room, kitchenette, and two bathrooms! We love the food court as it offers a great variety of food options. I also think that the transportation is easy. You will rely on bus transportation to and from the theme parks and the Downtown Disney area, but I have always found the bus transportation to be plentiful, quick, and efficient.

I hope that you will find the resort hotel that fits your family’s needs!
