First time to the park! I know you are supposed to make meal reservations months in advance, but we just booked for early May, are we too late for everything? If we don't have reservations, does that mean we'll have to leave the parks to eat?

    Hi, Anna!

    Great question!

You still have time to book your Advanced Dining Reservations for your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World. However, the sooner you make your decision on where you'd like to dine, the more likely you'll be able to find an available reservation at your preferred time.

Take a look at park hours and try to determine which day you'll be in which park and then look at your dining options both inside each park as well as in Disney Resorts nearby. For example, on a Magic Kingdom day, we like to dine at The Crystal Palace, a fabulously delicious buffet featuring Winnie the Pooh and friends. Should there be no reservations available there, we head over to the nearby Disney's Contemporary Resort (just a quick, complimentary monorail ride from MK) where we can enjoy dining at other family favorites such as Chef Mickey's or The Wave of American Flavors.

At this point, some of the most popular restaurants will be mostly booked during prime dining hours. However, there will be cancellations as Guests change their plans; thus, book the reservations you are able to secure now, and change them should you be able to get a preferred reservation at a future date. Don't let your vacation become a chore by either having to search from restaurant to restaurant to find a place to eat, only to discover that nothing is available at a time you'd enjoy.

Call Disney Dining at (407) WDW-DINE for reservations or check out the Things to Do tab on WDW's website, and click on Make Reservations.

Send more questions as you think of them, Anna! I'd love to help you plan this first, most exciting trip to WDW!
