Hi, Tracey! Congratulations on your first trip to Walt Disney World (WDW)! Wow, I wish I could just take you two by the hands and show you the World! There is much to consider when planning a WDW vacation, but the fun part that it's almost as much planning one as it is taking one. My advice is to become familiar with the website. Order the FREE planning DVD if you haven't already, or since your trip is so close, create your own planning video online so that you and your child can virtually explore the parks and resorts.
You are going at a great time of year, and in addition to the entertainment (which is included in park admission), there will be added holiday special events which you will want to see and experience. (Some special events are separately ticketed and are an extra expense, but Disney is good about making sure you know what costs extra.) I suggest that you pick up a WDW guide book such as
Birnbaum's Guide to Walt Disney World,
The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World or
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Walt Disney World. Either of those will give you a great overview and provide you with sound advice on how to take the best advantage of your vacation time.
If you haven't yet, head over to the
Advanced Dining Reservation page, you're going to want to not only become familiar with the restaurants but also make some reservations -- especially since you're on the
Disney Dining Plan. Come back if you have more questions. Have a wonderful day, a blessed holiday and a magical vacation!
