Welcome back to planDisney, Amy! It’s so great to see your name pop up again.
As a fellow Disney Cruise Line fan, I love that you're continuing to make magical memories with your crew. You already know just how special these sailings can be, especially with adult children, so how exciting that your next voyage will take you to
Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point! Now let’s dive into your question!
You’re correct that
Disney Castaway Cay offers inner tube and float rentals, but Lighthouse Point is a bit different. Since its beaches are not a sheltered lagoon like Castaway Cay, float rentals are not offered. The breezy coastline is beautiful and serene, but not quite float-friendly.
That said, there’s plenty to enjoy for a family that loves fun and adventure. If your sons are anything like I imagine (I hear they’ve parasailed before!), they may enjoy some of the new Port Adventures offered at Lighthouse Point. A couple of standout options I’d recommend checking out include:
-
Reef Snorkel by Boat: A great choice for older teens and adults, this guided adventure takes you offshore to snorkel among vibrant marine life in the turquoise Bahamian waters.
-
Adventure by ATV: You'll be guided out of Lighthouse Point and head off the beaten path through the rolling hills of South Eleuthera on a 4-wheeler.
Whether you spend the day exploring, snorkeling, or simply soaking up the island vibes with your toes in the sand, you’ll find something for every member of the family. And since Lookout Cay is still relatively new, I highly recommend booking your Port Adventures as soon as your onboard activity window opens…those adventurous options tend to fill up quickly!
Amy, I hope this helps you feel even more excited for your sailing on the
Disney Magic later this month. If more questions bubble up, please float back to us here at
planDisney, where we’re always available to help you navigate the planning waters.
Bon voyage,
Sami
