First time heading to Disneyland. What is the best way to get from SNA to Pixar hotel?

Hi there, Jessica! Welcome to planDisney. You are in for a treat with your first visit to The Happiest Place on Earth. I’d love to help with your travel arrangements to ensure you get straight to the magic.

SNA (John Wayne Airport) is the closest airport to the parks, with about 20 minutes of travel time, not including traffic. The best option really depends on how you are traveling. If you plan to rent a car, after collecting your luggage at baggage claim you’ll follow the signs to the rental car area. Whenever my husband drives, he usually takes CA-55 N and I-5 N as the quickest way to get to the on property hotels. Of course, you can easily type this into your phone’s map app as well. If you’re planning to use a ride share service, you’ll make your way to the designated ride share pickup area at SNA and let your driver know that you’re headed to Pixar Place Hotel. They should be able to get you there in the speediest way possible!

Did you know that when staying at Pixar Place Hotel, you're able to watch the fireworks display on select nights from the pool deck? It's such a unique feature of staying on property! With the music synchronized to the soundtrack, it feels as if you're right inside the parks watching.

With a first time visit to Disneyland, be sure to pop into my favorite shop, Plaza Point, for a custom ornament. It’s a year round holiday shop that features hand drawn customizations on ornaments. My family and I make it a yearly tradition to purchase an ornament to commemorate another wonderful year at Disneyland. It’s always so sweet to pull them out during the holidays and place them on our Christmas tree. It’s also fun to look back on the memories, such as our first married Christmas, our son’s first visit, and so much more!

Jessica, thank you so much for visiting planDisney. With a stay on property, you’ll be within the magic from sunup to sundown. Be sure to pick up a “First Visit” button over at City Hall when you walk in. I hope you have a magical first visit to the parks! If you have any more questions or need help planning, planDisney is always here for you.

With a Sprinkle of Pixie Dust,
