Hi Chris! Thanks for visiting planDisney.
Strollers are key to our enjoyment of the parks as a family. Even little ones who have outgrown a stroller sometimes need a break from the walking you do during a Disneyland Resort vacation. No one wants to carry around a tired little one for hours! Our youngest only uses a stroller these days when we're in the parks, and we have an inexpensive stroller that meets Disneyland Resort
specifications for that purpose. We fly and gate-checking an inexpensive stroller isn't particularly worrisome either.
While I would normally advise you to check the dimensions of your stroller to see if it will be allowed, it sounds like it won't be permitted through security regardless of its size. Scooters are currently not
permitted, and while this is a seated scooter you can push like a stroller, I don't recommend risking being turned away at the entrance. If it can be used as a scooter, it won't be allowed in, and you'd need to take it back to your car or hotel. That would be an unmagical start to your day.
Instead, I suggest investing in an affordable alternative like an umbrella-style stroller, or you can always
rent a stroller at Disneyland Resort. This is a convenient option, and the strollers are super cute, featuring Mickey and Minnie on the sides, which appeals to the little ones. The rental location is right outside Disneyland Park, but you can use your rented stroller in both parks.
Be sure to check out the
Lunar New Year celebration in Disney California Adventure Park while you're visiting. There are all sorts of festivities celebrating the Year of the Dragon, which your little one will enjoy. You will too! Especially some of the festive food and beverage choices, which you can read about in the Disney Eats
Foodie Guide.
Have a magical time!
