Hi Yiran! Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.
This will be quite an exciting vacation with your two and a half year old. He will light up when he sees familiar characters and experience all the magic in the parks. Visiting both
Animal Kingdom and the
Magic Kingdom theme parks is a perfect plan.
Make sure you have a stroller for the park days as there is a lot of walking. You son can use it when he needs it and it's a perfect way to corral a toddler among the crowds too. Stay hydrated no matter what time of year as well as use plenty of sun screen for everyone. Hats and sunglasses are also a necessity.
Now for the parks.....each one will have many attractions that will be suitable for the younger guests. I suggest you enjoy the following in the Animal Kingdom park: Safari ride, Lion King Show, Flights of Wonder, and the two walking trails. For a place to have your son run off some steam take him to the Boneyard. The one place you don't want to miss is Rafiki's Planet WAtch/Conservation Station. You will take a train to this location and can then brush and have interaction with the resident sheep and goats. Other animals are also there to see including some exotic varieties.
The Magic Kingdom is a Mecca of attractions for children. Fantasyland is the most popular area with almost everything there being perfect for the younger children. But make sure you read about all the lands as there is something in each for your son to enjoy.
Be sure and fit in a few character meet and greets. My favorite is meeting Mickey in the Magic Kingdom. If you are lucky he might even do a magic trick for you during your visit. This is a great attraction to get a FastPass for as the lines get quite long.
I enjoy helping you!
