It’s our first time to go Disney and I need help purchasing the right tickets and accommodations. It’s also the first time visiting CA. We are a family with 3 kids (5-year, 3-year and an infant).

Hey there, Esmail! Welcome to planDisney!

Your first visit to the Happiest Place on Earth? What a milestone! The Disneyland Resort loves a good celebration and your first visit is one of those special occassions! Be sure to stop by City Hall on Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland Park or Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park to pick up a complementary celebration button for all Guests in your party. It is a great little souvenir to document this occasion!

Though Scar wasn't my favorite character, he did teach a valuable lesson.. Be prepared! There can be a lot involved in the planning process for such a fairytale vacation, so I'm glad you stopped by to ask the best way to get started.

My best advice is to start with your accommodation. I personally think staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel adds some extra magic to your visit, along with a few added perks. Most importantly, these aren't just your regular, run-of-the-mill hotels, but rather immersive, themed spaces that help you to "never grow up!" Based on your preferences and budget, you can choose between Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Disneyland Hotel or Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel. I suggest checking out the descriptions and availability of each before making a decision. If these do not feel right for you, you can also check out the Good Neighbor Hotels, which are more traditional accommodations located near the parks and Downtown Disney District.

When you choose the perfect accommodation for your family, you can turn it into a vacation package to include tickets to the theme parks during your stay. I find it helpful to keep all my information in one place, so this tends to be the easiest way to make the planning process a breeze! Once you select your hotel, you'll be prompted to choose whether to add tickets to your stay. Add the number of tickets for each age group in your party. The next step is to choose any add-ons. You can add Disney Genie+ service to your tickets in advance or upgrade your ticket to a Park Hopper Ticket, which will allow your family to visit both parks within the same day.

Esmail, if this is all very unfamiliar, it may be helpful to enlist the help of a Disneyland Resort Cast Member. You can call a Cast Member directly at the numbers listed for Hotel Reservations, Tickets, or Vacation Packages. Sometimes, a kind voice on the receiving end of the phone is all you need to make some final decisions.

I sincerely hope you have the vacation of your dreams with your family, Esmail! Feel free to stop back by planDisney with any additional questions that arise before your visit.
