This is our first time flying into Cali for a trip to Disneyland. Florida we know what to do for transportation. I have looked online and a lot of the transportation offered from the airport to the hotel have terrible reviews. What is the best option?

Welcome to planDisney, Angela. How exciting that you will be flying into California for the first time for your visit to the Disneyland Resort. Just like there are many different modes of transportation that you can experience in the parks, there are different ways to get from the airport to the resort. Let's chat about options.

While there are practically myriad transportation choices, I can share a few that I have used and which I prefer the most. Depending on which airport I'm flying into, this can influence which mode of transportation I take. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is a bit further from the resort and I've used both rideshare and a shuttle service (Karmel Connect Service) from here.

I found that both were comfortable and a pleasant experience. A key difference is the pickup area. Shuttle service will typically pick you up curbside, while you will need to walk or take a bus to the rideshare pickup area. So while a rideshare may be more economical, the convenience of being picked up curbside may be worth an additional splurge. I would also call the shuttle service to confirm that they still pick up curbside. I've also taken the rail from the airport to the resort, however, this involves an additional transfer to a bus which adds time and is not my preference.

I mostly fly into John Wayne Airport (SNA), with Long Beach Airport (LGB) being a close second. Both of these airports are located closer to Disneyland and I almost always use a rideshare service to get from the airport to the resort or my hotel. From SNA, the ride is typically no longer than 30 minutes, which is super convenient. The pickup areas at both airports are a quick and easy walk from the terminal (usually no more than a 5 minute walk).

Once you've made the journey from the airport, you'll get to immerse yourself in the spooky season of Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort. Nothing makes me happier than seeing the giant Mickey pumpkin greeting me in Town Square. I also love eating my way around the resort and tasting all of the seasonal eats and treats. Be sure to check out the digital guide to all of the spooktacular fun in the Disneyland app.

Well, Angela, I hope that I was able to share some insight from my experiences to help you choose the best airport transportation option for your upcoming visit. Please come back to visit us with any other questions that you might be curious about. Here's wishing you a fa-boo-lous time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
