Hi Sallee,
Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I am happy to help you plan your first visit to Walt Disney World!
One of the first things that I suggest first time planners do is to watch the
Walt Disney World planning video online. This will start to give you an idea of what is most appealing to you and your family, including which theme parks are the most interesting for you and which attractions you want to experience. If any of your children are old enough to watch the video, I suggest letting them do so as well so that they can contribute to the planning.
For my personal recommendations for first-time visitors, I think that
Magic Kingdom Park is a must-do. It is where the Disney magic began in Florida! There you will find such classic attractions as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and Space Mountain. If any of your boys are interested in animals, then be sure to visit
Disney's Animal Kingdom Park for wonderful views of animals on attractions such as Kilimanjaro Safaris and the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail. Finally, if your house is filled with Star Wars fans,
Disney's Hollywood Studios is the place to be for attractions such as Star Tours - The Adventures Continue, on which you can ride through Star Wars settings on a simulated space flight, as well as Star Wars Launch Bay, which includes a film about Star Wars as well as props from the movies and character meetings.
I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Sallee! Have a wonderful time planning your magical vacation, and please do let us know if you have any further questions.
