Hi, Judy!
I completely understand your question. I traveled dozens of time to Walt Disney World in Florida before visiting the Disneyland Resort in California. I was ready to hop on buses and boats to change parks, but none of that is necessary at the Disneyland Resort. Everything is within walking distance!
The
main entrance to Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park face each other, and you can hop between parks in just minutes. You will have already gone through security, so you do not even have to go through that process again. I'm telling you, it is fantastic. Ready for another shocker...the Downtown Disney District is also right there. That's right, everything is in one place. So simple!
Just because everything is conveniently located within walking distance, there is no lack of things to do! With 3 beautiful resort hotels, 2 theme parks, and the Downtown Disney District, there is plenty of magic for any Disney fan.
Since it is your first visit, enjoy attractions you do not see at WDW...
Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land, Mickey's Fun Wheel, the
Matterhorn Bobsleds, Guardians of the Galaxy, and California Screamin'. It is also fun to ride classics like Pirates of the Caribbean or Splash Mountain to compare the similarities and differences. My favorite is the Haunted Mansion - see if you notice any differences in the "stretching" room!
Wishing you a magical first visit to the Disneyland Resort. Have great time!
Cathy
