    It's our first time going to DL. We are arriving on 1/13/14 and leaving on the 1/15/14 and we want to know whether we can stay an extra night without having to pay for the parks an extra day, also will the Christmas lights will still be up? Thanks!

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your questions. I’m happy to hear you’re planning your first visit to the Disneyland Resort this coming January. There’s so much magic to discover at The Happiest Place on Earth!

    If you wish to extend your reservation at a Disneyland Resort Hotel for another night but don’t plan to visit the theme parks an additional day, that shouldn’t be a problem (depending on hotel availability). The three resort hotels and the Downtown Disney District offer plenty of dining, shops, entertainment and recreation for you to enjoy during your time outside Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.  However, if you have booked a vacation package for a specific number of nights with theme park tickets included according to the length of your stay, you should consult your travel agent or call the Walt Disney Travel Company at (714) 520-5050 for details. The seasonal events and decorations end the first week of January, so the resort will no longer be decorated for the holiday season at the time of your visit.
