first time to disneyworld with 18month daughter/husband. I was looking for ideas for daughter. know about shows, rides in small town, meeting characters (loves mickey & tigger). any ideas of what else I can do? thank you

    Hi there, Meghna!

With such a little one, I would recommend you focus on the Magic Kingdom. Fantasyland is just made for children; the rides are gentle, not particularly dark (except for Snow White's Scary Adventures, and that will be closing down at the end of the month), and bring storybook favorites - like Peter Pan and Winnie-the-Pooh - to life.

And you can definitely meet both Mickey and Tigger in the Kingdom! Mickey Mouse greets his friends in Town Square Theater, just past the archway into the Park, and Tigger can be found back in Fantasyland. You will definitely want to  grab a Times Guide for the most up-to-date information on character meeting times and locations.

For a real treat, make a reservation at the Crystal Palace buffet, and dine with Tigger, Winnie, Eeyore, and Piglet. Give (407) WDW-DINE a call to make reservations 180 days in advance.

If she likes animals, try Disney's Animal Kingdom. While it is a large Park, she'll get to see all sorts of animals in environments that outclass those in so many traditional zoos,

Disney's Hollywood Studios is also loads of fun. It's manageable to do in a single day, and while the emphasis is on shows, there is definitely entertainment for the younger set, Kids can sing and dance with their favorites from Disney Junior's new lineup: Disney Junior: Live On Stage features Jake, the Neverland Pirates, Handy Manny, the tools, and, of course, Mickey, Minnie, and all of their friends!

Remember to build in some time every day for resting, swimming, or napping. That will make your nighttime activities much more pleasant and exciting for you all.

Above all, have a wonderful time!

    See you later, celebrator,
    -Deborah B.
