Hello! It is our first time in Disney-we are coming April 1-8 and our kids are 6 and 8 and we're staying in Animal Kingdom... how do you travel from park to park? Is it walkable at all? Or do you take the bus/ferry? Thanks in advance

    Hi Suzanne:

Animal Kingdom Lodge is my favorite resort on Walt Disney World property,  As Disney Vacation Club members, it's our "home" resort, and we stay there often.

You are not able to walk to any of the theme parks from Animal Kingdom Lodge, not even Animal Kingdom park, believe it or not.  The best way to get to and from the theme parks and the Animal Kingdom Lodge is by using Disney's complimentary bus transportation for resort guests.  The bus will pick you up at the bus station in front of your resort and take you to and from the theme parks, water parks, and Downtown Disney.  The routes are direct, except the busses make stops at both Animal Kingdom Lodge resorts (Jambo House and Kidani Village) along the way.

Alternatively, if you have a car, you can always drive.

    Enjoy your vacation.
