This is our first time at Disneyland. We will be traveling with a 5 year old girl and grandparents. Do you have any suggestions for the 2 days we will be there, which are during Easter week? Any fireworks, etc? We are staying at Paradise Pier. Thank you!

Hi, Kate! Yay! I'm so excited that you are planning your first trip to the Disneyland Resort!

Since you are staying at Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel, you can take advantage of Extra Magic Hour which grants you entry into one of the parks an hour early. If you are visiting on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday, or Sunday, you can experience Extra Magic Hour at Disney California Adventure Park which is only for Disneyland Resort Hotel Guests. Otherwise, Extra Magic Hour at Disneyland Park is on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I always recommend getting an early start so you can make the most of your day - especially if some people in your party require an afternoon nap.

With a large group, I suggest making at least one dinner reservation. It's a nice way to relax and regroup after a busy day in the parks. Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance online or by calling (714) 781-3463. After dinner, grab a spot for the Main Street Electrical Parade which will run nightly during your stay. If you happen to be in the parks on a weekend, you can also enjoy the "Remember...Dreams Come True" fireworks spectacular.

Finally, if your daughter loves hunting Easter eggs, the Disneyland Resort typically has special Easter egg hunts at each park. While it's not your typical hunt where you fill a basket, your family will have a lot of fun spotting Disney-inspired eggs nestled in nooks and crannies all around the parks. Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog as your trip approaches for more information on Easter activities.

    "Hoppy" planning!
