First time at Disneyland. I have military tickets. How do I link the tickets in my Disneyland app to our original magicband+? There is no friends and family list like Disney world. Thank you for the help!!

    Welcome back to planDisney, James!

It’s so nice to meet you and I’ll be more than happy to help organize your theme park tickets. Let me first begin with a thank you to you or the service member who will be visiting Disneyland Resort. “Thank You!”. Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. My husband is on active duty, so I understand everything your family goes through. I am so glad you will all get the chance to enjoy some downtime at Disneyland. My husband laughs when I say that though because he says I have such a busy schedule that he needs a vacation after the Disney vacation.

Linking your MagicBands to your existing tickets will be a little different than what you are used to doing at Disney World. I find that it is easier to use the mobile app for the next few steps so I recommend you do the same. The first thing you will need to do is click the three horizontal lines on the bottom right-hand side. You will then be on your home screen and should see the “My Tickets & Passes” box. Select that and scan or type in the ticket numbers you have. After that, return to your home screen and select the “MagicBand+” link under the “Account” heading. You’ll see a blue plus sign in the top right corner. Select that and you’ll be able to scan your MagicBand to link it to the app. Once the MagicBand is linked to the app you will then be able to assign each MagicBand to the corresponding ticket. The fun thing with Disneyland is that the MagicBands can be mixed up! For example, my son was able to use my Disney 100 Band that I had bought for Disney World at Disneyland. So even though your current bands are person-specific for Disney World, it won’t matter at Disneyland! It’s just a fun perk.

James, I hope this helps get your MagicBands linked and situated for your upcoming visit. I can’t wait for you to see all the similarities and differences between the two coasts. I do have to say the queue for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Toontown is one of a kind and very different from the one in Hollywood Studios. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Have a great visit and again, thank you for your service. Enjoy The Happiest Place on Earth and if there's anything else you need, we're always here to help.

Meet the Panelist: Shantel, Alabama

Hi ya Pals! I'm Shantel, an Army wife and mom of two. I grew up going to the parks, and now we're sharing that tradition with our kids. When I am not visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm at home researching and planning for our next trip. One of my favorite things to do is search for new snacks to try, especially if they are Mickey shaped. I'm definitely living the dream my heart wished for! I cannot wait to answer your questions and help make your vacation even more magical!
