Hey howdy hey, Athina, and thanks for bringing your questions to
planDisney!
First off, I’m so excited for you to experience the
Happiest Place on Earth for the very first time this September! Be sure to stop by City Hall (in Disneyland Park) or Chamber of Commerce (in Disney California Adventure Park) to ask for a complimentary “1st Visit!” button!
To answer your first question about using your
MagicBands at Disneyland Resort, this technology isn't currently available at the Disneyland Resort. However, the all-new MagicBand+ will be available at Disneyland Resort later this year, though we don’t have an exact date just yet.
According to the Disney Parks Blog, some of the features will vary between Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. So, unfortunately, we don’t know yet if previous MagicBands will have any use at Disneyland Resort. I recommend staying tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest information about MagicBand+ at the Disneyland Resort as soon as it’s announced.
Next, it sounds like your Padawan is ready to become one with the Force in
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Athina! I had the chance to watch my son build a custom lightsaber at
Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers, and it was one of my favorite Disney experiences! Reservations for Savi’s Workshop can be made up to 60 days in advance. So, currently reservations are available through September 13, 2022. Once you’re within 60 days of your chosen date, you can
click here to Check Availability and get started.
Last but not least, it sounds like your daughter may benefit from
Disability Access Service (DAS), which is designed to accommodate the needs of Guests who have a hard time waiting in a conventional queue due to a disability.
DAS Advance is a new program that offers Guests the chance
to pre-register online with a live video chat as early as 30 days before your visit, and no less than two days before. If for any reason you aren’t able to register for DAS before your visit, you can also register at the Disneyland Resort upon arrival at City Hall, Chamber of Commerce, or any
Guest Information location.
Here’s another helpful page offering plenty of resources and information that may assist your daughter during your visit. If you have any additional questions before your trip, you can also call Disability Services, or send an email to disability.services@disneyland.com.
I hope this information helps you plan your dream vacation, Athina! Please stop back with any additional questions… we’re all EARs!
Happy planning,
Kristin
