Hi there, Mary-Beth!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney again. I love it when Guests who visit Walt Disney World Resort decide to explore Disneyland Resort!
Dining reservations work a bit differently between the two resorts. At Disneyland, reservations usually open 60 days in advance of each individual day, rather than the Walt Disney World system, where Disney Resort Collection hotel Guests can typically make reservations at the 60-day mark for their entire stay (usually up to 14 days). Because of this, you will need to check availability each morning, and in my experience, new reservations tend to appear around 6:00 AM PST. Some restaurants take a little longer to show availability, so if something isn't showing up right away, keep checking the
Disneyland website.
Have you made a list of your must-do dining locations yet? My favorites include
Lamplight Lounge,
Storytellers Cafe,
Cafe Orleans, and
Blue Bayou Restaurant. Blue Bayou Restaurant is small and extremely popular, so it can be tricky to get reservations. The delicious food and unique atmosphere make it absolutely worth the effort!
I also like booking a
Fantasmic! Dining Package. My favorite is Cafe Orleans, which has incredible food and usually includes a prime viewing area where Guests sit on the ground to watch the show. If you prefer to stay seated at a table, the Premium Package at River Belle Terrace lets you enjoy your meal and then watch the show right from your seat. Guests without a dining package typically stand in the general viewing areas.
Mary-Beth, I'm sending lots of pixie dust your way so that you're able to secure every reservation on your list! I visit both Disneyland and Walt Disney World often, so feel free to
reach out to me again if you have more questions.
Magic Happens!
