Hi Janelle,
Wow, how magical to be staying at Walt Disney World on Christmas! All of Walt Disney World is extra beautiful with wonderful decorations during the winter holidays. You are staying at one of my favorite Disney Vacation Club resorts.
Disney's Old Key West Resort is relaxing, with a calming Florida Keys feel. I absolutely love sinking into a vacation at this resort!
Since you mention that you are staying on a Disney Vacation Club reservation, you will have chosen whether your villa is booked near the Hospitality House. This is a separate category delineated when making a Disney Vacation Club reservation at this resort. The Hospitality House is the central area of the resort, and a villa in this area will mean that you are close to the dining, merchandise location, and Sandcastle Pool, which is the main pool at this resort. If you are not near the Hospitality House, you will be in a location that is further away from these, but that can also make a difference in being in a quieter location.
When making room location requests, I typically like to describe what I am looking for as opposed to asking for a specific location. For example, you could ask to be near a pool - even if you are not close to the Hospitality House, there are other quiet pools located throughout the resort. You also might ask to be near a bus stop if that is important to you. Since Disney's Old Key West Resort is so large, there are multiple bus stops. Another request that I like to make is for a high floor - I find that the views are lovely from higher up. Please do note that any request that you make cannot be guaranteed, thought Disney will try their best to honor requests.
I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Janelle! Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
