I am a first time disney traveler, I will be bringing my 3 kids ages 8, 7, and 1. There are so many options included with each package, I want to get the most for my money, but not go into the poor house! PLEASE HELP!

Hi Lauren, I know that it can be confusing, so hopefully I can help you out!

For tickets, there are several options available at different prices so you can buy exactly what you’ll need. The base tickets are available for one to ten days – the price per day decreases as you purchase more days. These tickets are good for one park per day and you cannot use two days on your ticket to enter two parks in one day. So, if you want to go to more than one park per day, you’ll want the park hopper option. I always recommend the hopper option if you can afford it in your vacation budget because it'll offer much more flexibility.

If you want to go to the water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports, or DisneyQuest, the Water Parks Fun and More option may be a good idea. You’ll get as many “entries” as days on your ticket, so if you have a 5-day ticket you’ll get 5 entries. However, that can be way too much for some families - my family generally does not add that option to our tickets.

If you are staying on property, and are purchasing park tickets, you are eligible to add the Disney Dining plan to your vacation. I generally recommend the standard plan, with one snack, one quick service meal, and one table service meal, per person per day. You may need to pay for a few out of pocket meals (and gratuities aren't included) but it's still usually a great deal.

I hope that helps!  Have a great vacation!
