First time to Disney this Summer. Which park would you start with for first timers?

Magical Greetings, Rebecca! Thank you for your question, and for visiting us at planDisney. I am so excited that your first visit to Walt Disney World Resort will be this summer! We've got ears, say cheers!

As a first-timer, I suggest starting with the original park, Disney's Magic Kingdom! From the moment you scan your MagicBand+ and walk through Main Street, U.S.A., you will feel like you've been transported to a fairy tale of your own. Viewing Cinderella Castle for the first time always brings out the emotions in me every time I see it. Walt Disney said it best: “It has that thing – the imagination, and the feeling of happy excitement- I knew when I was a kid.”

If your visit allows it Rebecca, I suggest two days to Magic Kingdom. There is so much to experience, and I don't want you to miss out on any of the fun! First, stop by City Hall and pick up a "My 1st Visit!" button! I usually start my visits with Main Street, U.S.A., then head straight to Fantasyland. I'll work my way to Tomorrowland, then if I have time, I'll start Adventureland. On the following day, I'll continue Adventureland, then Frontierland, and Liberty Square. I'll end my day revisiting my favorite attractions if the line isn't too long.

Now, let's talk logistics! To maximize your visit, I suggest making an Advanced Dining Reservation for an early breakfast with Winnie the Pooh and Friends at The Crystal Palace. The Cast Members at the front entrance allow guests to enter the park before opening with a reservation, and this is the perfect time to get a family picture in front of Cinderella Castle before heading on to breakfast. Sometimes, if you finish breakfast before the park opens, you will also have a chance to hop in line at an attraction before the crowds begin. As a fan of the "I do not like long lines" club, I suggest looking into purchasing Disney Genie+ during your visit too. What's great about Genie+ is that you will have access to the Lightning Lane queues, which are the shorter lines. For attractions like TRON Lightcycle/Run and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, consider purchasing Individual Lightning Lanes, which are separate from Genie+.

Whew, that was a lot of information! I hope all of these tips are useful, Rebecca. Thank you again for visiting planDisney. Please reach out at any time with other questions before your visit. Just like Jiminy Cricket, I am happy to "be your guide!".

    Happy Planning!
