Hello Sandra,
Two years ago, my family visited Disney World with my wheelchair bound Mom. We wanted to stay at a Moderate Resort - and I of course chose my favorite,
Port Orleans French Quarter (POFQ).
We requested adjoining rooms, making sure one was wheelchair accessible. And it worked out perfectly. This past year, POFQ renovated every room on property. Each room now has queen sized beds, new carpeting and granite counters in the bath. It's gorgeous. My parents had the privacy they wanted, but we were just next door if they needed anything.
POFQ is a smaller Resort, making it easier to maneuver from the Quick Service Restaurant, Disney bus transportation and your room. This is great when you have a family member in a wheelchair
and kids in your party.
And the theming is fantastic. I mean, who wouldn't want Mardi Gras every day?
Hope this helps. Happy trip planning!
