Hi! First time at Disney! I have a 2yo and 6 yo staying dec29-jan2nd. Where is the best parks for that age? Any activities around that time to make sure we see?

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Sarah!

Welcome to planDisney! We are DELIGHTED you stopped by and are honored to help you plan your VERY FIRST trip to Disney World! WOO HOO! There is truly nothing like that very first visit, when everything feels brand new and full of wonder. This is the kind of trip that turns into lifelong family stories and favorite memories. We know you are counting down the days until you arrive, and we can't wait to "See You Real Soon!"

I must start by saying that experiencing Disney through the eyes of a 2-year-old and a 6-year-old is pure enchantment. Disney does an incredible job making the parks MAGICAL for every age. Still, there is something extra special about watching little ones light up when they meet characters, ride their first attractions, or see fireworks for the very first time. Slow down, take it all in, and enjoy those moments because they are truly priceless.

For your kids’ ages, Magic Kingdom is an absolute must and will likely be your favorite park. Little ones love rides like Peter Pan’s Flight, "it’s a small world", Dumbo, and Winnie the Pooh. EPCOT is also wonderful, with attractions like Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, and watching the aquarium animals. Hollywood Studios is great for Toy Story Land, featuring Toy Story Mania, and the Frozen Sing-Along, which is especially fun for kids. Animal Kingdom is fantastic for young ones, too, with Kilimanjaro Safaris.

A great tip during this busy time of year is to arrive at the parks right when they open so you can enjoy your favorite attractions before the larger crowds roll in. I would also encourage you to take advantage of Lightning Lanes to skip the standby lines and ride more of the attractions your kids will absolutely love, helping everyone stay happy and energized throughout the day.

Since you’ll be visiting during the holiday season, you’re in for an extra special treat. The Christmas decorations will still be up across the parks and resorts, making everything feel even more festive. Oh, and you will not want to miss the special Christmas fireworks at Magic Kingdom!. It’s a wonderful way to add even more sparkle and unforgettable memories to your family’s first Disney trip.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We are here to help in any way!

    Have a MAGICAL day!
