This is our first time to Disney and staying at AKL. We have 2 boys (30 month & 10 month old) so looking for recommendations (ie. best parks to visit first, etc) since my wife is attending seminars during the day and I will be hauling around the boys

    Hi, Randy!

The easiest park for you to visit with your two adorable little guys will be the Magic Kingdom.  There are many family-friendly attractions that the three of you can enjoy together:  it's a small world, Peter Pan's Flight, Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and more.

I suggest you bring a double stroller. This way you can pack the boys into the stroller right in your resort room down to the bus stop.  When you arrive in the Magic Kingdom, you can put them back in the stroller making it easier to get to the front gates and through bag check.  Inside that bag, make sure you have diapers, bottles, changes of clothes, sunscreen, hats, and of course your camera.  There is a Baby Care Center on Main Street that will be helpful for changing the baby.

For dining, I suggest you do a Quick Service lunch at Pinocchio Village Haus in Fantasyland.  Save any character dining until your wife can be there to enjoy the fun.

The second park I would choose would be Hollywood Studios where your boys can meet pals Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and even Lightning McQueen!   You can enjoy a fun lunch at Pizza Planet where you can get a nice pizza lunch then enjoy the arcade games.

You might also just want to plan a nice day at the pool.  Life jackets are available and kids always love time at the pool!  If you need a break from swimming, hop on a bus to Downtown Disney where your 3 year old will love the store Once Upon a Toy and the World of Disney Store.

I hope this helps!  If you need any other information or an itinerary, send me your dates and I will be happy to sketch out a plan for you.  Have fun and maybe pick-up a souvenir for Mommy, she will love it when she gets done with her meetings!   Enjoy your stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
