This is our first time to Disney! Not going until April but I hear making dinner reservations is already a must. With the Dining plan in mind what are some GREAT places to eat for dinner? Our 9 year old daughter and 2 adults. No princess stuff :)

    Hi Danielle,

How exciting to be planning your first Walt Disney World vacation! I have a family of three with one daughter as well, and we love trying lots of different restaurants at Walt Disney World.

At Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, you can find Boma: Flavors of Africa. This buffet is huge and has an incredible variety. There are African flavors as well as more traditional American offerings if some in your party are not adventurous eaters. Moving into a theme park, we enjoy the Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen at Magic Kingdom. At this restaurant, you will be served slightly exotic fare by Jungle Skippers - who are hilarious! The food here is delicious as well. We also very much enjoy Chefs de France at Epcot, for French fare in a bistro setting at Epcot. If you head to Disney Springs, check out Chef Art Smith's Homecomin'. This down-home restaurant offers Florida-inspired fare. My family likes to order a jasper board and some fried chicken and nibble away.

These are just suggestions of my family's favorites, Danielle! Be sure to take a look at other restaurants at Walt Disney World to see what is appealing to you.

You can make dining reservations 180 days ahead of your dining date. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel, you can make dining reservations for up to 10 days of your vacation at 180 days before your check-in date. I do like to do this as soon as possible, to ensure that I get my choice of restaurants and times. You can make reservations from the restaurant websites, or by calling 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463).

Please let us know if you have any further questions, Danielle!
