This would be our first time going to disney with kids. We have a 1 year old and a 3 year old. We are worried about it being too hot for them. What is your opinion on the heat in Sept or October?

    Hello Christine,

The only thing more magical than planning a first trip to Disney World is the vacation itself! I'm thrilled to be helping you!

I have traveled from Ohio with an eight-month-old and a three-year-old in the past. And Cast Members at Disney really go out of their way to make sure it's an enjoyable time for all of you.

Being from the Midwest, I can understand your concern about the Florida heat. For me, September still tends to be hot. Depending on what time of the month you'll be visiting, temperatures can still reach high 80's or low 90's. In my opinion, October is a great time of year to go to Disney. The weather's fantastic, especially towards the middle of the month. And I have found crowd levels to be really manageable.

No matter when you choose to vacation, remember to bring sun hats for all of you and sunblock. I am also a big fan of midday breaks. After lunch, consider leaving the Theme Parks for a dip in the pool or a nap in your Resort room. Both are terrific ways to cool off!

    Hope this helps!

My family loves our Main Street in Ohio. But there's simply no comparison to Main Street U.S.A.! We don't get to Disney quite as often as I'd like, but that just means finding new ways to sprinkle Pixie Dust on our adventures! Learn More About Monina
