It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Amanda!
Rider Switch is going to be so useful for you and your husband on your upcoming trip with your little one. You can use the system to switch out who is caring for your baby while you ride some of the more thrilling attractions. Some families like to use Rider Switch in conjunction with
FastPass+ to save a bit more time, and I'm happy to walk you through how you can do that on your upcoming vacation since your FastPass+ selection day is coming up soon!
When you want to use FastPass+ in conjunction with Rider Switch, meaning that the first person riding will use a FastPass+ to enter the attraction while the second person obtains a Rider Switch entitlement, everyone who will eventually be riding the attraction needs to have a valid FastPass+. If you're planning on using that system, you would not each be able to have three unique FastPass+ selections and still use Rider Switch on those same attractions. When you tap your
MagicBand to receive a Rider Switch return time, the Cast Member at the attraction podium is able to check to make sure that everyone has a FastPass+ if you want to use that line, so make sure that everything is correct in your
My Disney Experience app! Think of it as both of you using your FastPass+ selections at the same time to ride together. Of course, if you don't want to use a FastPass+ in that way, the first rider can always use the standby line and the second rider can use their Rider Switch entitlement to enter the FastPass+ queue.
I hope this answers your question, Amanda, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
