Hi, Sherry! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I am so excited to hEAR that you are
planning your first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! Be sure to ask a Cast Member at your
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel or any
Guest Relations location for "First Visit" buttons. You never know what kind of magic you might encounter when you're wearing those buttons.
There is so much to see and do at the Walt Disney World Resort! Your family's must-do list is really going to be a matter of personal preference. I would suggest sitting down with your boys and doing some resEARch on the Walt Disney World website. Take a look at the lists of
attractions and
entertainment offerings and read about what can be found in each theme park. These lists can be filtered according to interests, thrill level, and height requirements, so you can determine which attractions your family will find practically perfect in every way.
In my opinion,
Magic Kingdom Park is the quintessential Walt Disney World experience, so I'm sure you will want to spend some time there. My family often sets aside two days of our vacation to experience all that Magic Kingdom Park has to offer. Since you are arriving shortly before Halloween, be sure to check the schedule for
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which takes place in Magic Kingdom Park on select nights. I highly recommend attending this frightfully fun event, but please be aware that this is a separately ticketed special event.
If your boys are fans of
Star Wars or
Toy Story, be sure to plan a visit to
Disney's Hollywood Studios, where you will become fully immersed in your favorite movies. Nature-lovers and thrill-seekers alike will go wild for
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Be sure to stop by
Epcot to sample some tasty food and beverage offerings at the
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.
Speaking of delicious food, a
character dining experience is another must-do. Chef Mickey's and Garden Grill Restaurant are two of my kids' favorites. Please be aware that
dining reservations are recommended and can be made 180 days in advance.
If we can answer any additional questions for you, please visit us again. Wishing you a magical first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
