Hey there, Charles!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney, where we love to share our tips and ideas from our own Disney vacations as a way to help you plan. I'm excited for you and your Mouseketeers for your first visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth!
I say that if you're planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort, it's hard to think that you're anything
wrong. I'd say instead that there's nothing quite like a Disney destination vacation, and that you're doing lots of everything right to want to plan one.
One note I will share, in the hope that it's helpful, is that there are a few more planning considerations with the updates that were put in place when Walt Disney World Resort reopened. The
"Know Before You Go" video and information summary offer a helpful overview of the updates you'll want to keep in mind
One of the key planning considerations is the requirement to make theme park reservations in advance of your visit. This means that in addition to purchasing theme park admission tickets, you'll need to make a reservation to enter the first theme park you plan to visit in a day. This is why one of the first to-do items I suggest for Guests planning a Walt Disney World Resort trip is to make sure that there are theme park reservations available for the days you wish to visit. The
Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar is the go-to resource for this info.
After you see that the theme parks have reservations available, you'll want to
purchase your theme park tickets, make sure they are linked to your
My Disney Experience account, and then make your theme park reservations with the
Disney Park Pass system. You can purchase tickets separately, or you can purchase tickets as part of booking a vacation package that includes a Resort hotel and theme park tickets You can use the
"Book your Walt Disney World Vacation today" planning tools to conveniently book your vacation page online.
Charles, I'm not certain what you're experiencing that you're getting a sense that you're doing something "wrong." I'm not sure if you're running into issues with making a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel reservation, or if you're running into issues with making theme park reservations. If you're seeing issues with Disney Park Pass availability, one suggestion is to keep checking the Theme Park Reservation Availability for dates you might wish to visit. It's possible that reservation availability can change.
If there's an issue of a different type that you're experiencing, you can try reaching out to the Walt Disney World Internet Help Desk by calling them at (407) 939-4357. You can also try to
connect with them through the chat service.
Charles, I'm hopeful for you that you get to plan your first visit to Walt Disney World Resort soon. I can say with confidence that you'll be making memories that you and your family will cherish. There's so much magic that awaits you!
Here's wishing you and your family a wonderful Walt Disney World Resort stay!
Jerry
