Ahoy, Heather!
Welcome aboard planDisney! I’m so excited for you and your crew to embark on your very first Disney cruise—and on the Wish, no less! That ship is practically shimmering with enchantment around every corner, from the Grand Hall’s fairytale elegance to the
Marvel Super Hero Academy (where even I wanted to sneak in). You’re in for a fantasmic voyage filled with character encounters, delicious dining, and memories that’ll last longer than Rapunzel’s hair!
Now let’s talk about check-in—because even though it’s not quite as thrilling as
Pirate Night, it is a big step in getting your crew ready to set sail.
Even though your three staterooms are linked (smart move, by the way!), each stateroom must complete Online Check-In individually. If you booked all three staterooms under your Disney account, you can complete check-in for each one—but it’s still a room-by-room process. Each stateroom will
have its own reservation number and needs its own set of information ready to go.
So before the clock strikes midnight (literally), be sure you have the following treasures ready:
• A headshot photo of each Guest (just like Prince Eric’s portrait, but less royal)
• A picture of each Guest’s passport or
required travel documents• Travel plans for everyone (whether they’re driving or flying in on Aladdin’s magic carpet—or, you know, another airline)
• A form of payment for each stateroom’s onboard account
• And if you’ve got little sailors ready to dive into the Oceaneer Club, you’ll register them during check-in too
Now, if some of those staterooms were booked by other members of your family under their own accounts, then they’ll each need to log in and complete their own check-in. This was the case on one of our cruises with friends—
we had our reservations linked and could see each others onboard activities, but because we booked separately, we had to do our own check-ins. (Still smooth sailing, though!)
One more helpful tidbit: since this is your first Disney cruise, your Online Check-In window will open
30 days before your sail date (unless you’re sailing Concierge, which bumps that up to 40 days). I recommend that one adult from each stateroom logs into their Disney Cruise Line account right at midnight Eastern Time when check-in opens. That way, you can all try to snag Port Arrival Times and boarding groups that are close together—because starting your vacation side by side is part of the fun!
Trust me, once you’re onboard, you’ll be dancing to the Sail-Away Party music, sipping a frozen treat, and wondering why you waited so long to take the plunge with Disney Cruise Line. It truly is the most magical way to travel!
Sea ya real soon as May brings sunshine, magical ports, and maybe a Mickey bar or two,
Dustin
