Ahoy, Dorrell, and welcome to planDisney! How exciting that you're taking your first vacation with Disney Cruise Line this December. With all of the Magical touches you'll find onboard, I know you'll have a sailing straight out of a fairytale.
Dorrell, my father-in-law is taking his first-ever cruise with my family this September, and lately we have had a lot of first-time-cruiser conversations in my house so I appreciate this question. For your introductory cruise,
your booking window for all Port Adventures including booking cabanas for Castaway Cay is 75 days prior to your sail date.
NOTE: As your booking window is tied to your Castaway Club status, should you sail again, Silver Members can book activities 90 days prior to your sail date. Now, Dorrell, in regards to reserving a cabana, you'll want to log into your Disney Cruise Line account by 11:55 PM so that you are ready to view all of the available options when the clock strikes midnight. To do this, hover over the "Already Booked," tab until you see, "My Reservations." You'll be taken to a new page that is specific to your sailing. You'll click on "My Plans" and at midnight you can begin making your selections. Please be aware that cabanas are very popular and it's possible that they will have sold out prior to your booking window opening. If this happens, while not guaranteed, you can visit the Guest Services desk on your embarkation day and request to be put on a waitlist for a cabana.
Dorrell, as you are planning for your visit, make sure to take a look at planDisney's
Beginner’s Guide to Disney Castaway Cay with a downloadable Pocket Guide. I'll also direct you to read about
Services for Guests with Disabilities in advance of your cruise in case there are any specific requests you need to consider for your traveling party.
If you have any additional questions, please come on back to planDisney. Wishing you fair winds & following seas,
Lauren
