Welcome aboard planDisney, Rebecca! As a first-time cruiser, I know there is a lot of information out there, and it can get overwhelming. I am glad you brought your question to us.
Even though your
advance booking window has opened, you can continue to schedule activities like
Port Adventures and onboard activities until they are full. I bet you are traveling with a large variety of ages, with kids from toddlers to teenagers. Here are some of my suggestions for your family:
- In Nassau, consider the Blue Lagoon Island Beach Day or Blue Lagoon Island Beach Day-Half Day if it is available on your sailing.
- Another popular Nassau Port Adventure is one where you interact with dolphins or sea lions. Depending on the age of the Guest, they can either swim with the dolphins or go into the dolphin encounter. If adults do not want to get into the water with their kids or you are traveling with a child who is too young to enter the water, they must book the Blue Lagoon Island Dolphin/Sea Lion-Observer.
- On Disney Castaway Cay, Disney's private island, I encourage people to explore the area as much as possible. I think that the Castaway Cay Getaway Package is a great option for Guests 5 years and older who want to do just that. This is a discounted rate for a 3-in-1 rental package, which includes snorkel equipment for the day, a float or innertube rental for the day, and a bicycle rental for one hour.
- As far as onboard activities go, I always suggest that Guests 18 years and older reserve a meal at one of the adult-exclusive restaurants. Brunch in Palo Steakhouse is always on my must-do list, but dinner is also available there, and lunch and dinner are available in Enchante' by Chef Arnaud Lallement.
- If you have young travelers from ages 6 months to 3 years, you can also reserve time in"it's a small world" nursery! at an additional cost during your window.
Rebecca, I hope you find some fun family activities to reserve for your upcoming sailing on the
Disney Wish. If you have not already done so, you can link your reservations under "
My Reservations" so that you can dine together, if not at the same table then close to each other. If you have any other questions, sail back to see us at
planDisney.
Adventure is out there!
