Ahoy there, Leslie!
I'm so excited to hear that you'll be sailing the Alaskan voyage on the Disney Cruise in 2015! That is an amazing itinerary that my family and I enjoyed, and I guarantee, your family will enjoy it too. This cruise is definitely different from all the other Disney Cruise itineraries around the world. Such awe-inspiring splendor to gaze at while out on the deck - it is serene and jaw dropping. I'm sure you'll be taking lots and lots of pictures, and they'll all be frame worthy... it's an inspiring place that brings out the artist in everyone.
The sooner you book your
Port Adventures, the better chance you'll have of snagging spots, since Disney Cruise does limit their shore excursions to small groups. There is a chance that some popular excursions fill up quickly, and you won't really get confirmation of availability until you reach the 75 day booking window. Your Online Check-in will only allow you to choose and confirm at that time. I suggest putting the actual date on a calendar alarm, so that you'll be ready to book once that timeframe opens up for your reservation. The Port Adventures desk will sometimes take wait lists. But as you know, that can be a hit or a miss. It never hurts to ask, so make sure you speak to someone at the Port Adventures desk onboard and inquire. Things do happen sometimes and you never know if they will have spots open up for whatever reason. To be on the safe side, just be ready for a Plan B. :-)
I'm hoping that you get your choice spots for Port Adventures, Leslie. Watch for that calendar entry and have a great time planning for your magical voyage to Alaska!
