First time at Disney coming up soon! 74 days!! We have booked the little mermaid at AOA. However, in looking at the Spring deals we could stay at Caribbean beach for a small amount more. possible to switch? and which would you rather stay at? thanks

    Hi Shannon,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  Congratulations on booking your first Walt Disney World Resort Vacation, you are going to have a fabulous time!  My family and I have stayed at both of the Resorts you are considering, and they are both absolutely fabulous.  In my opinion, before deciding to upgrade you have a few things to take into consideration.

First, a big thing for my family is the convenience of the Disney Transportation.  In this category Disney's Art of Animation wins because there is only one bus stop, and I find that it is easier to travel back and forth from this resort.  Also, I absolutely love the theming at this resort, it is so much fun, especially if you have younger children!

In terms of Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, the amenities and the finishes offered here are slightly more extensive.  If your family plans on spending some time by the pool and loves a good water slide, the Fuentes del Morro Pool at this Resort is fabulous.  The Big Blue Pool at Disney's Art of Animation Resort is great, but it does not have a water slide.  There is also some additional recreational activities available for your family to experience together that are not available at Disney's Art of Animation Resort.  Both Resorts offer a fabulous food court, I prefer the Landscape of Flavors at Disney's Art of Animation, however Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort also offers Shutters at Old Port Royale - which is a Table Service Dining location open for dinner.

Both Resorts are great, so it is definitely a tough choice, but whichever you choose, I am absolutely positive you and your family will have a magical time.  Please let me know if you would like any additional information regarding either of the resorts or any thing else you can think of as you countdown your 74 days.  I would love to hear from you again!
