First time at Disney with boys aged 9 and 11. Need tips. Have food plan . Need tips re transportation to parks. Suggestions re reserving meals. Do you need to reserve meal times at the park. Can you do it the day before?

    Hi Barbara,

There is a fantastic transportation wizard tool which I like to use available at www.ourlaughingplace.com.

It allows you to enter where you will be travelling to and from within Walt Disney World and then provides details on the best route(s) to take as well as giving an indication of the amount of time that the journey will take.

If you are planning on using Disney's complimentary transportation, I would add an extra 20 minutes onto each estimated time to allow for the time which may be spent waiting for your designated mode of transport to arrive.

It is possible to make advance dining reservations 180 days in advance of your trip and I would highly recommend that you do so at your earliest possible opportunity as many of the popular restaurants do book up quickly.

Some of my 9-year old Sons favourite Character Meals include:-

Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast with Lilo & Stitch at Disney's Polynesian Resort
Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort
Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House in Disney's Animal Kingdom

Some other fun non-character meals which my Son also enjoys are:-

Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort
    Ohana's at Disney's Polynesian Resort
Teppan Edo in the Japan Pavilion at Epcot
Les Chefs de France in the France Pavilion at Epcot

Wishing you a magical trip filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
