This will be our first time dining at T-Rex restaurant in Downtown Disney. What do you think of this restaurant? Kids are 9 and 5. Will they enjoy it?

    Hi Stephanie,

T-Rex is one of our family's favorite places for a casual bite to eat. It's definitely never a dull moment there! My 12 and 10 year old have been going for a few years now and they always love when we end up there. It is a very loud place and similar to Rainforest Cafe, there is an "event" that happens about every 20 minutes (a simulation of a meteor shower) so the lights flicker on and off and it's even louder when that goes on. If your children don't have any sensory issues or are afraid of dinosaurs, then it shouldn't be a problem.

The food is also similar to Rainforest Cafe, if you've ever been there, although I find the fare at T-Rex slightly better in my opinion. There are several different sections to the restaurant so be sure to walk around and explore to see all the different dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures. There's also a merchandise shop inside and a Build-a-Dino area in the back which is a dino-fied version of Build-a-Bear. Out front there is a dig site where kids can pretend they are archeologists uncovering the next great fossil find.

I think your kids would love it and it's definitely a change of pace from your average burger and fries!

    Enjoy!
