Hi Donald!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Congratulations on planning your inaugural cruise! One of the top reasons why we love cruising with
Disney Cruise Line is because we get to see so many exotic places all while being surrounded by Disney magic! The journey aboard Disney Cruise Line to each port of call is as much fun as actually visiting the destinations themselves!
Debarking the ship once the ship has docked at a port of call is easy and usually not a long process at all! If Guests are leaving the ship on their own to explore, they typically get off in the morning so the gangway is a little more crowded at that time. Even in the most crowded circumstances, we've only had to wait five minutes or so. Disney Cruise Line has multiple Cast Members and Crew waiting and ready to scan each member of your family's "Key to the World" card before going ashore. All Guests 18 years of age or older must have a photo I.D. with them as well.
If you've booked one of
Disney Cruise Line's Port Adventures, you will have a meeting place (usually aboard the ship) assigned for the morning or afternoon of your excursion. Your entire party will meet at the designated location (with your "Key to the World" cards and photo I.D.) and check in for your Port Adventure. Then, you will walk as an entire group to the gangway and debark the ship together!
Donald, if you have any more questions while you plan your inaugural voyage with Captain Mickey, please don't hesitate to stop back and visit us again! We want to make your first Disney Cruise as smooth-sailing as possible!
